The avocado Persea Americana originated in Southern Mexico, + through ancient trade, most South & Central American countries have cultivated many different varieties. Evidence of its consumption has been found in the ancient cities of ChanChan in Peru all the way to Coxcatlan up to 10,000 years ago. The word comes from the Nahuatl word ahuacatl, & throughout modern South America, it is named aguacate or palta (from the Quechua word). Known as a superfood full of happy fats & protein, we serve these treasures hot with a cooked egg in each half & topped with chorizos & arepa on the side. We name the plate Los Ojos de las Diosas – The Goddesses’ Eyes because they look so beautiful.
